1. Sing Along with a Choir of 300 Figures

The whimsical boat tour, “it’s a small world,” has you sailing along the Seven Seaways Canal on a delightful 10-minute musical journey. Set to the classic anthem of world peace, this Park attraction features a cast of almost 300 singing Audio-Animatronics® figures representing children from around the globe.

2. Spy an Unlucky Number (if You’re Lucky)

The next time you board a Doom Buggy to be spirited away through the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland® Park, muster up a little bravery and take a peek through the fingers covering your eyes. You’ll notice there are 13 candles on the birthday cake in the ballroom of the Haunted Mansion. Make a wish . . . and maybe, just maybe, you’ll find your way out.

OpeningDay

3. Marvel at the Original Magic Kingdom

Before it was known as the “Happiest Place on Earth”, the term “Magic Kingdom” originally applied to Disneyland® Park when it opened in 1955. The tagline then made its way over to Walt Disney World® Resort where it still resides today!

4. Discover Walt Disney’s Hometown

The very first “themed” land that greets you upon entering Disneyland® Park is Main Street, U.S.A. This quaint little street features early 20th century small-town American decor and was inspired by two towns: Marceline, Missouri, where Walt Disney spent several years of his childhood, and Fort Collins, Colorado, where Harper Goff, the designer of Main Street, U.S.A. grew up. The street features a variety of shopping options where Disney® Visa® Cardmembers can snag some souvenirs with 10% off select merchandise purchases of $50 or more at select locations.1,2

PetrifiedTree

5. See a 75 Million-Year-Old Attraction

Want a geology lesson on your next visit? Then kick up your spurs and head to Frontierland to find the Petrified Tree, the oldest attraction at Disneyland® Park—approximately 75 million years old, in fact! The tree was purchased from the Pike Petrified Forest in Colorado in 1957 by Walt Disney as a present for his wife. Soon after, it was installed next to the Rivers of America for every Guest to enjoy this rare geological treasure. Disney Visa Cardmembers can enjoy a great bite to eat in this neck of the woods and receive 10% off at select restaurants like River Belle Terrace, which features down-home cooking and Southern hospitality.3

Railroad
6. Decode a Railway Message

The next time you’re riding the Disneyland® Railroad (re-opening summer 2017), be sure to listen closely when you make your second stop at the New Orleans Square train station telegraph cable office. The telegraph plays out a paraphrased portion of Walt Disney’s opening-day speech from July 17, 1955 in Morse code. Decoded, the minute-long message says: “To all who come to this happy place, welcome. Here age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future.
