Halloween at Walt Disney World® Resort is so exciting, it’s scary! This year, Magic Kingdom® Park introduces its new, signature Halloween event, Disney After Hours BOO BASH, a separately-ticketed event running select nights from August 10 through October 31. This celebration provides plenty of family-friendly entertainment and experiences—and when we say it’s fun for all ages, that means the adults, too! We’ve put together a grown-up’s guide to this bewitching party, with tips on how to maximize the fun this spooky season. Did you get tickets and need to make a plan? Get the info below, and keep in mind you can redeem Disney Rewards Dollars toward extra enchantment while you’re there.0
Take Advantage of Shorter Waits
As a separate event, Disney After Hours BOO BASH lets a limited number of Guests into Magic Kingdom® Park for an additional three hours at the day’s end, from 9:00 or 9:30 p.m. through midnight or 12:30 a.m. And fewer Guests means less waiting in line at some of the most iconic attractions. That includes Space Mountain, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and, of course, Haunted Mansion. Enjoy more time with shorter waits at over 20 Magic Kingdom® Park attractions.
Get in the Spirit with Costumes
This time of year provides a rare opportunity for grown-ups to wear costumes at the parks. Show off your Disney fandom by dressing up like your favorite Character or get creative with a theme. Adults have all kinds of options for accessories, including transparent wings, tutus, toy swords and plastic light sabers. There are a few looks you should avoid—such as capes that drag on the ground and masks that fully conceal your face—so check the dress code and costume guidelines for Disney After Hours BOO BASH to be safe.

Treat Your Taste Buds
Don’t miss the exclusive treats, snacks and beverages available only at Disney After Hours BOO BASH. Take a swig of the Apple Ginger Dale Frozen Drink, which combines autumn favorites, apple cider and ginger ale, topped with whipped cream and chopped TWIX® Cookie Bars. Or try a delightful dessert that would make even a villain smile: the Foolish Mortal Funnel Cake, served with ice cream, drizzle icing, Oreo crumbles and M&M’s® Milk Chocolate Candies Ghouls Mix. And look for trick-or-treat stations throughout the park, where you’ll find candy (including allergy-free options), courtesy of Mars Wrigley.
Strike a Pose and Say “Boo!”
Nobody does Halloween décor quite like Walt Disney World® Resort, so prepare to feast your eyes on captivating lights and designs. Grab a selfie in front of the ghostly glow of Cinderella Castle, or snap photos of Disney Characters in special Halloween costumes. You may even catch a rare sighting of a fan-favorite villain like Dr. Facilier or Pinocchio‘s Gideon and Foulfellow, along with the chance to encounter ghosts outside of the Haunted Mansion, like Broome the Butler or Miss Carlotta.
Discover Bewitching Entertainment
It wouldn’t be a party without some entertainment. Experience three themed cavalcades: Mickey’s Happy Halloween Cavalcade, with Mickey Mouse and his best pals showing off their coolest costumes; Disney Villain Halloween Cavalcade, with wicked icons like Jafar, Gaston and the Queen of Hearts strutting their stuff down Main Street, U.S.A; and Jack’s Nightmare Cavalcade, with the Pumpkin King himself leading a musical procession of Characters and creatures from The Nightmare Before Christmas. And don’t miss Maleficent, who will make an appearance in her fire-breathing dragon form. For some soothing sounds with an eerie aura, find the Cadaver Dans—aka the undead incarnation of the musical group the Dapper Dans—as they sing Halloween hits.
Toast to the Night at a Resort Hotel
If you’re in the mood for an adult beverage, slip away to a nearby hotel, where you can find Halloween-themed concoctions. Visit Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and grab a ghastly green Poisoned Apple Cocktail, filled with vodka, melon liqueur, blue curaçao and pineapple juice with a novelty glow cube. Or head to Disney’s Contemporary Resort to taste the Harvest Punch, a mix of rum, butterscotch schnapps, orange juice, bitters and pumpkin syrup with a cinnamon stick and star anise on top. Cheers to the most spine-tingling time of year!
If you’ve got your ticket for Disney After Hours BOO BASH, prepare to feel like a kid again this Halloween, no matter your age. As you plan a vacation to die for, remember you can redeem your Disney Rewards Dollars toward festive goodies at the event.0 Happy haunting!
