Immersed in Happiness
If there was ever a time to snap even more photographs during your visit, this is it! And there are so many wonderful spots to get that perfect shot. Start with the imaginative, 50-foot-tall Music Box structure in the esplanade between Disneyland® Park and Disney California Adventure® Park. Inspired by Sleeping Beauty Castle, the structure features towers and icons representing the earliest Lands in Disneyland® Park. As you enter the park, you’ll find another special photo opportunity to commemorate your visit in Town Square on Main Street, U.S.A., where festoons, banners and swags of bunting lend a festive air. The lavishly-decorated Sleeping Beauty Castle features a beautiful 70th Celebration brooch medallion and banners and fabrics in vibrant colors. At Disney California Adventure® Park, Buena Vista Street is dressed to celebrate and Carthay Circle Theater is decorated like a red-carpet opening night with nightly projections from beloved films on the façade. The whimsical, vibrant décor is extended throughout Downtown Disney® District, and the Hotels of the Disneyland® Resort. You’ll feel immersed in the spirit of the 70th Celebration wherever you look.
Two Parades and a Cavalcade
We all love parades, so be sure to find the perfect place to view the eagerly awaited return of the radiant Paint the Night parade, full of some favorite Characters and dancers brilliantly lit up by over a million twinkling lights. The lively theme song—“Celebrate Happy”—will have toes tapping during the parade’s finale. “The Celebrate Happy song is so upbeat and joyful, it just gets into your heart,” says Jennifer Magill, Executive Producer.
During the day, take time to redeem your Disney Rewards Dollars toward a special treat, like the 70th Celebration churro, rolled in Ube sugar, topped with marbled blue raspberry icing drizzle and sprinkles.0 Enjoy while you watch the Celebrate Happy Cavalcade on Main Street, U.S.A., in Disneyland® Park. The Cavalcade features a colorful new float with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and friends. Duffy and ShellieMay appear in their special 70th outfits as well.
At Disney California Adventure® Park, something we all love to celebrate—friendship—is honored with the returning parade: Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! featuring over 30 beloved Pixar Characters.
“I love the spirit of this parade,” says Kristin Peterson, Producer, Disney Live Entertainment at Disneyland® Park. “It is a joyful, feel-good experience.”
Fireworks, Light Shows and Spectacles
The Wondrous Journeys projection spectacular returns to Disneyland® Park, lighting up the sky and transforming Sleeping Beauty Castle, Main Street, U.S.A., the façade of “it’s a small world” and the fountains on Rivers of America into canvases for decades of iconic Disney storytelling each evening. On select nights, fireworks fill the sky, adding to the experience. “Every Disney animated film is represented,” Magill says. “It’s a journey through the heart of Disney storytelling and what it has meant to all of us.”
Tapestry of Happiness transforms the iconic structure of “it’s a small world” into a vibrant, animated mosaic inspired by Mary Blair’s whimsical Disney art. Set to the original song “Celebrate Happy” and classic tunes of the Disneyland® Resort, this dazzling nighttime display celebrates 70 years of magic, memories and happiness.
A Kaleidoscope of Happiness
Don’t miss the all-new World of Color Happiness! Show, presented by PANDORA® Jewelry, at Disney California Adventure® Park. The Characters from Inside Out 2 are your guides through a stunning display that explores our emotions through lights, fountains, music and Disney storytelling. The Muppets join the fun with a hysterical safety announcement and a gorgeous new rendition of the song, “The Rainbow Connection” performed by Boys II Men begins and ends the show with an emotional message of hope, dreams and happiness.
“Throughout the Disneyland® Resort, we have made the emotion of happiness a multi-sensory experience,” Magill says. “And the best part? We’re not done creating happiness yet!”
