Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas

What’s this? Jack Skellington’s version of Christmastime has a special place in the hearts of fans who love a good song, a good scare and a few snakes among the gifts. Mixing yuletide fun with tricks and treats, Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas shows us that the holidays can be whatever we want them to be. Watch it for Christmas—or any of the other six holidays featured in the madcap movie!

The Santa Clause Films with The Santa Clauses

When you watch this movie, expect big jolly laughs! This throwback favorite from the 90s stars Tim Allen as Scott Calvin, who magically (and hilariously) transforms into Santa Claus. Faced with filling the big guy’s shoes, he grows into the Santa suit, and the job grows on him. Once you make your way through all three of The Santa Clause movies, check out The Santa Clauses—a Disney+ original series as packed with fun as Santa’s sleigh.

Home Alone Films with Home Sweet Home Alone

Ready for some nostalgia, comedy and action? Since 1990, this Christmas movie series has made fans wonder what they might do with the house to themselves for the holidays—and dream up some creative antics to battle burglars. After the original Home Alone movies, watch a new story unfold in the 2021 Disney+ Original movie Home Sweet Home Alone.

The Muppet Christmas Carol

It’s the Charles Dickens classic with a twist: music and Muppets! The Muppet Christmas Carol captured hearts in 1992, and now fans can enjoy it on Disney+. Prepare for some tears, lots of laughs and an adorable baby Kermit version of Tiny Tim. This is a good one to watch again when there’s only “One More Sleep Til Christmas.”

Disney’s A Christmas Carol

And we can’t forget about another beloved version of this tale: Disney’s A Christmas Carol. As always, Scrooge confronts the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future—and this time they’re all played by the charismatic Jim Carrey. This movie charmed fans by staying true to the book while also bringing Dickens’ imagination to life with wild 3D effects.

Olaf’s Frozen Adventure

If you’re dreaming of a white Christmas, this animated favorite is sure to satisfy. Join the world’s cutest snowman and his friend Sven in Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, as they set out to save the holidays for Anna and Elsa, helping them find their own Christmas traditions.

Olaf's Frozen Adventure

Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3

Yes, Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3 is a Christmas movie. Marvel fans have made it a holiday tradition, as it takes place on Christmas Eve and is packed with heartwarming lessons about love, family and becoming the best versions of ourselves. Watch and enjoy Tony Stark’s Scrooge-like transformation into a better person and hero.

Noelle, a Disney+ Original

Noelle offers an empowering take on the Santa story. When her brother runs away from his new role as Santa Claus, Noelle ventures out of the North Pole to go find him. In the process, she shows she’s got what it takes to be the first female Santa. This festive film became an instant fan favorite in 2019, and it deserves a spot in any holiday movie marathon.

Prep & Landing

Lanny and Wayne are two of the North Pole’s tech-savvy, stealth elves on a mission to clear the way for Santa’s sleigh. This animated holiday special is a fun, adventurous story about the unsung heroes of Christmas, the ones who hang the stockings with care and make sure no creature is stirring. Loved for its whimsical spy gadgets and cheeky references to Christmas specials past, Prep & Landing packs a lot of holiday spirit into a little package.
