Last-Minute Magic: DIY Character Costume Ideas

DIY Halloween Character Art

It’s bound to happen: the year flies by and it’s Halloween again before you know it. You have a Halloween party to attend or some trick-or-treating with the family to do and you haven’t got a costume! What to do? Well, for a Disney fan there’s no shortage of inspiration available, whether it’s from classic films or from Disney Parks’ iconic images. Here are just a few suggestions to get the ideas flowing and conjure up a Disney costume like magic!

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ Bellhop

Get The Look: “DROP” into your closet or the nearest thrift shop for some black pants and maroon t-shirt. From there, use markers and cardboard to make your own customized name tag (spooky puns encouraged), shoulder stripes for the shirt, and of course, the little round hat to complete an ensemble to die for.

The Incredibles

Get The Look: Red clothes, black shoes, dollar-store eye masks, and construction paper logos on your chests? Sounds like a super costume idea for the whole family! Just remember: no capes!

Minnie Mouse

Get The Look: Go out as Mickey’s best gal with a black t-shirt, red polka dot skirt, yellow shoes, and a hair bow…and bonus points go to anyone who can bust out some authentic Minnie Ears from the Disney Parks.

Get The Look: “Finding” some fishy flair is as easy as black pants and shoes, yellow shorts or skirt, a blue shirt, and yellow inflatable water wings. Add a blue hat or wig and give your shirt a smiling fish-face with construction paper and tape for a Halloween even Dory would never forget.

Get The Look: No need to “scavenge” too far for this out-of-this-world costume! A white shirt with beige or gray pants and black boots will launch the outfit, and then wrap up with gray and white sheets of fabric and a couple of brown belts. Oh, and every intergalactic adventurer needs hair ties, right?
