Your Kid-Friendly Guide to the Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival

Mom and daughter at Epcot Food Festival

The Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival, running from August 29th to November 23rd, is about exploring new foods and flavors, but it puts family fun on the menu, too! “We want all ages to have a great time together while discovering great food, too,” says Dave Kesting, General Manager of Food and Beverage and Festivals at Epcot®. Cardmembers, when using your Disney® Visa® Credit Card from Chase, enjoy 10% off select merchandise purchases of $50 or more at select locations including: Festival items such as kitchenware, glassware or this year’s Disney Festival Cookbook. Here’s a look at what’s being served up for heaping smiles that the entire family can share and enjoy.12

    • Fun Zone Playground

The Fun Zone Playground, located in Future World East, offers lots of places to explore and climb. It’s perfect for the kids to burn off pent-up energy, while adults relax with a beverage or food sample from nearby marketplaces.

    • Disney Du Jour Dance Party

From the Fun Zone Playground, head to the nearby Disney Du Jour Dance Party hosted by a lively DJ seven days a week between 5:30 PM and 8:30 PM. On Fridays and Saturdays, enjoy live performances by stars such as Meg Donnelly from Disney Channel’s original movie, Zombies, who will be performing August 30th and 31st. Additional performers will be announced on the Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival Website.

    • Kid-Friendly Cuisine

“On the Festival Passport, we notate all the kid-friendly items with a strawberry icon,” Kesting explains. “And the great part is you’re purchasing small samples, so if the kids decide they don’t like something, you haven’t spent a lot on a full entrée. It’s a low-risk environment for introducing them to new tastes.”

    • Candy Sushi-Making Experience

Learn to turn a crisped rice treat, fruit roll and candy into Candy Sushi at the Sunshine Seasons kitchen in The Land Pavilion. The low-cost activity sells out quickly, so reserve your spot early.

    • Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak Scavenger Hunt

Everyone loves Remy! Have fun searching for him while you’re also trying new tastes. Simply purchase a map with stickers from select Festival merchandise locations and set out on a scavenger hunt for statuettes of Remy and the ingredients for his famous ratatouille. Once you’ve found all the items, bring your completed map to Disney Traders and choose a surprise. And don’t worry—even if you don’t complete the search, the surprise is still yours!

    • Epcot® Forever

There’s no better way to end your day than by sharing the beauty of a new, limited-time fireworks spectacular, “Epcot® Forever,” when it lights the night above the World Showcase Lagoon beginning on October 1st. The beloved spectacle “IllumiNations—Reflections of Earth” will retire on September 30th.
