The story of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
When we last saw Tiana in The Princess and the Frog, she was on the brink of opening Tiana’s Palace, a restaurant she and her father dreamed up when she was little. Tiana worked hard to make her dream a reality, and now she’s expanding. With the help of friends new and old, she has built a beloved brand, the employee-owned Tiana’s Foods, where she and her community dream up all kinds of new products straight from the bayou—including a line of original hot sauces perfect for gumbo!
To celebrate all their hard work and success, Tiana is planning a bash during Mardi Gras season for her friends and family down in New Orleans. But there’s been a mix-up in the party planning, and now Tiana needs your help finding musicians for tonight’s party. Journey down the bayou with Tiana and friends in a last-minute search for a band! Meet her down in the bayou for an unforgettable adventure.
New and familiar faces featured in Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
You’re in Tiana’s world now! And you’ll encounter a few familiar faces. Mama Odie’s magic is on display, and Louis is always ready for a party. Prince Naveen, the King and Queen of Maldonia, and Prince Ralphie are all in attendance, at the party, in addition to Mama Odie: Princess Tiana and her mother, Eudora, Charlotte and “Big Daddy.” Talented voices from the film are reprising their roles including Bruno Campos reprising his role as Prince Naveen, Jenifer Lewis as Mama Odie, Michael Leon Wooley as Louis and Anika Noni Rose as Princess Tiana.
But this Mardi Gras season wouldn’t be complete without some new friends, too. In the bayou, you’ll be greeted by a brand-new cast of original Characters. This new cast includes some cute critters who lend their musical talents to the attraction, performing Zydeco music and more. Their musical stylings create a sound native to Louisiana.
How artists and Imagineers created Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Just like Princess Tiana did with Tiana’s Foods, the artists and Imagineers at Disney poured their heart and soul bringing this adventure to life. To capture the magic of Mardi Gras, Imagineers spent time visiting New Orleans to get inspired and soak in the unique culture of the city. From an airboat tour to Congo Square, the Historic New Orleans Collection and Xavier University, Imagineers dug into the rich history and culture of the city to create an authentic experience.
Disney Imagineers also teamed up with master artists and artisans to make sure Tiana’s party during Mardi Gras season is one of a kind. Imagineers collaborated with YAYA Arts Center based in New Orleans to work with artists like painter Sharika Mahdi, whose concept art inspired the appearance of Mama Odie in the attraction, for example. Meanwhile, muralist Malaika Favorite created a soulful mural that welcomes Guests back into New Orleans, filled with all the food, music and family that make Tiana’s world magical.
The history of New Orleans is present down to the last detail on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Master blacksmith Darryl Reeves, whose family has been crafting and maintaining New Orleans’ metalwork for three generations, designed and created a one-of-a-kind weathervane to decorate the attraction. And no party in the bayou would be complete without music. Legendary Grammy-winners PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard worked in collaboration with Imagineers to create the original song and music arrangements for the adventure and queue.
What to expect on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

- Tap along to some of your favorite tunes from The Princess and the Frog as well as new, original music created just for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
- Be tempted by the alluring smell of beignets being prepared for the party as you make your way through the queue. You know Louis couldn’t resist taking a bite!
- Encounter dozens of new Audio-Animatronics figures throughout the attraction, including Princess Tiana herself in her new adventure wear.
