Experience Multicultural Holidays at the Disneyland® Resort
December 8, 2022
Over the years, holiday celebrations at the Disneyland® Resort have grown to encompass not only beloved Christmas traditions, but also diverse, multicultural holiday festivities from across Southern California and afar. This year, you can enjoy the festivities at Disneyland® Park and Disney California Adventure® Park from November 11, 2022 to January 8, 2023. “We like to create an experience for Guests that celebrates many different traditions,” says Andrae Gill, Director, Disneyland® Resort Event Planning.
We’ve listed the inclusive celebrations here so you can plan your visit to discover new traditions as well as experience the ones you already know and love.
Multicultural Celebrations at Disney California Adventure® Park
• Try tantalizing tastes with a Sip and Savor Pass
“Food plays a major role in the Festival,” says Gill. “Our chefs even go back to their own traditions to create some of these recipes.” Redeem your Disney Rewards Dollars toward the purchase of a Sip and Savor Pass, which lets you sample eight select foods or non-alcoholic beverages at various Festive Food Marketplaces and select dining locations as part of Disney Festival of Holidays.1 (Restrictions apply.)
• Enjoy Disney ¡Viva Navidad! street party at Paradise Gardens Park
Hosted by the Three Caballeros, this high-energy, colorfully costumed experience features both folklorico and samba dancers.
• Rock out to Mostly Kosher at Sonoma Terrace
Let the rhythms rock you as this eclectic Hanukkah musical experience weaves together klezmer, jazz, Latin, rock and hip-hop. Lively doesn’t begin to describe it!
• Celebrate Diwali at Palisades Stage
The spirited dancers of Blue13 Dance Company showcase traditional Indian folk dance that builds to a Bollywood-inspired party at this Diwali celebration.
• Experience the music of Kwanzaa and Christmas at Pacific Wharf
The Mistletoes, an a cappella singing group, perform music honoring both Kwanzaa and Christmas.
• Meet Santa and his elves at the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail
Greet your favorite “jolly old elf” and his helpers, then head to Paradise Gardens Park to find the Holiday Toy Drummers at the Obelisk.
• End your holiday festivities with Three Kings Day at Paradise Gardens Park
Commemorate the close of the holiday season with Three Kings Day (honoring the Epiphany) with traditional decor and a special photo opportunity at Paradise Gardens Park from January 2–8, 2023.
• Share holiday hugs from Disney Characters
While at Disney California Adventure® Park, greet beloved Disney Characters who are also celebrating the holidays. Cardmembers can enjoy a Character Experience at our private Cardmember location in Hollywood Land (next to Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!).2
Merry Celebrations at Disneyland® Park
For many, a visit to the park during this season has become a tradition in and of itself. Here are some of the beloved holiday sights and events!
• Pose for family photos
The gorgeous, 60-foot Christmas tree on Main Street, U.S.A.® and Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle are perfect backdrops for family photos.
• Be enchanted by “it’s a small world” Holiday
The iconic attraction is decked out in fun and festive holiday decorations as it celebrates 25 years of this overlay. Be sure to catch the nightly show of lights and projections appearing on the outside.
• Watch A Christmas Fantasy Parade and the “Believe…in Holiday Magic” Fireworks spectacular
Grab a traditional gingerbread cookie and some cocoa and watch the magic unfold before your eyes. Both shows are offered daily, weather permitting and subject to change.
From Disneyland® Park to Disney California Adventure® Park, “we pay tribute to the traditions that make us unique,” Gill says. “And we celebrate the things that unite us—our joy in being with friends and family. No matter who you are or how you celebrate, we all share that.”
